Est. 2019 · Covent Garden, London

Raid-grade gaming coverage, no filler.

Deep reviews, boss-by-boss raid guides, and honest hardware teardowns from a crew that actually finishes the campaign before writing a word.

Editor writing a raid guide

Who we are

Built in a Covent Garden loft, run by people who play.

GameRaidVanguard started as five friends sharing a warehouse desk and one very loud mechanical keyboard. We publish coverage we'd actually want to read — no scores handed out before the credits roll, no copy-pasted press releases.

Hardware bench testing rig

How we test

Real hours logged, benched on the same rig.

Every headline title gets a minimum 20 hours before review. Hardware runs the same repeatable benchmark suite so a mouse or a GPU is judged against the last twelve we tested — not against vibes.

The workflow

From first launch to published verdict.

01

Play it fully

We finish the main campaign or clear the raid tier before a single sentence gets written.

02

Bench & capture

Frame times, load times and input latency logged on our reference rig, with clips grabbed for proof.

03

Cross-check

A second editor replays the sticking points so no verdict rests on one person's bad night.

04

Publish & update

Live at 9am GMT, then revisited after major patches so the verdict stays honest months later.

What we publish

Four columns, one standard.

From the community

Readers who stuck around.

"Their Eclipse raid guide got our clan the world-140 clear. The boss timers were spot-on where every other site guessed."
Priya S. · Shoreditch · March 2025
"I nearly bought a £1,700 GPU until their teardown showed the mid-tier card hit the same 1440p frames. Saved me a fortune."
Marcus D. · Camden · January 2025
"The only blog that admits when a game gets worse after launch. They re-scored a title down after the season-two patch — respect."
Hannah W. · Islington · February 2025
"Weekly briefing lands every Friday with the three things worth my time. It's the only newsletter I don't skim."
Tom R. · Brixton · December 2024
"Joined the members' Discord for the raid VODs. Getting frame-by-frame breakdowns from people who cleared it first is unreal."
Elena K. · Hackney · April 2025
"No score inflation, no early-access hype. When they give something a 9 you know they earned it. Rare in this space."
Daniel O. · Greenwich · November 2024

Good to know

Questions we get a lot.

Do you take payment for reviews?

Never. We buy most games ourselves and clearly label any review copy provided by a publisher. No studio sees a score, an angle, or the text before it goes live. Our only paid tier is the reader membership.

What's in the £6/month membership?

Ad-free reading, early access to raid guides 48 hours before public release, our members' Discord with VOD breakdowns, and a monthly hardware Q&A. You can cancel any time from your account page.

How current are the raid guides?

Guides go up within 24 hours of a raid tier opening and are patched whenever encounter mechanics change. Each guide shows a "last verified" date at the top so you always know it matches the live game.

Can I pitch a guest piece?

Yes — we run two community features a month. Send a short pitch through the contact form below with a link to something you've written. We reply to every pitch within a week, even the ones we pass on.
